Turkey Cranberry Sandwich Recipe

 

Ingredients:

– 8 slices whole wheat bread

– 1/2 cup cranberry sauce

– 1/2 cup mayonnaise

– 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 1 pound cooked turkey breast, sliced

– 4 slices Swiss cheese

– 1 cup baby spinach leaves

– 1/2 cup sliced red onion (optional)

– Butter, for grilling (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the cranberry sauce, mayonnaise, dried thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Lay out 4 slices of whole wheat bread on a clean surface.
  3. Spread a generous amount of the cranberry mayonnaise mixture onto each slice of bread.
  4. Top each slice with slices of cooked turkey breast, Swiss cheese, baby spinach leaves, and sliced red onion (if using).
  5. Place the remaining 4 slices of bread on top to form sandwiches.
  6. If desired, spread butter on the outer side of each sandwich.
  7. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
  8. Place the sandwiches in the skillet or grill pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  9. Remove from the skillet and let the sandwiches cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
