Ingredients:
- 3 cups (600g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter
- 2/3 cup (160ml) evaporated milk
- 1 package (12 oz or 340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 jar (7 oz or 198g) marshmallow creme
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (120g) chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Line a 9-inch square baking pan with foil, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal later. Lightly grease the foil with butter or cooking spray.
- In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a full rolling boil. Boil for 4 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and quickly stir in the chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
- Add the marshmallow creme and vanilla extract to the mixture, stirring until well combined.
- If desired, stir in the chopped nuts until evenly distributed throughout the fudge.
- Pour the hot fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly with a spatula.
- Let the fudge cool at room temperature until set, which may take several hours. You can also place it in the refrigerator to speed up the process.
- Once the fudge is set, use the foil overhang to lift it out of the pan. Peel away the foil and transfer the fudge to a cutting board. Cut into squares and store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
- Enjoy this classic Fantasy Fudge as a sweet treat or share it with friends and family during the holidays or special occasions!
