Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions, for garnish (optional)
Directions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and sesame oil to make the sauce. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak with the minced garlic and grated ginger. Mix well to coat the beef.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef to the hot skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli mixture, stirring to coat everything evenly.
- Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the beef and broccoli are heated through.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and serve the beef and broccoli hot over cooked rice.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired.
