Fishball Sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Red chili flakes or chopped chili (optional, for heat)

INSTRUCTIONS

In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, brown sugar, soy sauce, and minced garlic.
2️⃣ Optionally, add red chili flakes or chopped chili for extra heat.
3️⃣ Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved.
4️⃣ If desired, mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of water to create a slurry and add it to the sauce to thicken, stirring constantly.
5️⃣ Continue simmering for a few more minutes until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
6️⃣ Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving with fishballs or your preferred snacks.
