Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce

 

Ingredients:

– 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tablespoon olive oil

– 1 teaspoon dried oregano

– 1 teaspoon dried basil

– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

– Salt and black pepper to taste

– Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Directions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  2. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir to combine with the garlic.
  3. Add dried oregano, dried basil, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir well to incorporate the seasonings.
  4. Simmer the sauce over low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. If you like a spicier sauce, add red pepper flakes to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool before using as a pizza sauce.
