Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie Recipe

 

Ingredients:

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1/4 cup packed brown sugar

– 1 large egg

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

– Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 10-inch cast iron skillet with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and whisk until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
  7. Press the cookie dough into the prepared cast iron skillet, spreading it out evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the skillet cookie cool slightly before slicing.
  10. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
