Best Cinnamon Rolls

 

Ingredients:

– 1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)

– 2 eggs, room temperature

– 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup white sugar

– 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

 

– 1 cup brown sugar, packed

– 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

– 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, eggs, melted butter, flour, salt, white sugar, and yeast. Mix until well combined.
  2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll out dough into a 16×21 inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over dough, then sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
  6. Starting with the long edge, tightly roll up the dough and pinch the seam to seal. Cut into 12 equal size rolls and place in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
  7. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
