Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps

 

Ingredients:

– 1 lb ground chicken

– 1 tablespoon sesame oil

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 onion, diced

– 1/4 cup hoisin sauce

– 2 tablespoons soy sauce

– 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar

– 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger

– 1 teaspoon Sriracha (optional)

– 1 (8 oz) can water chestnuts, drained and diced

– 2 green onions, thinly sliced

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 1 head iceberg lettuce, leaves separated

Directions:

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground chicken and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Stir in garlic, onion, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, ginger, and Sriracha. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until onion is translucent and fragrant.
  3. Add water chestnuts and green onions to the skillet, stirring to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. To serve, spoon the chicken mixture into individual lettuce leaves, using them as wraps.
