Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
- Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving
Directions:
Step 1: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain excess fat and set aside.
Step 2: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are softened and browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the mushrooms from the skillet and set aside.
Step 3: In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 4: Sprinkle the flour over the onions and garlic, and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to cook off the raw flour taste.
Step 5: Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
Step 6: Stir in the cooked ground beef and cooked mushrooms into the skillet with the thickened sauce.
Step 7: Reduce the heat to low, and stir in the sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 8: Cook the mixture on low heat for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
Step 9: Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Step 10: Serve the Ground Beef Stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice.
Step 11: Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
Step 12: Enjoy your comforting and delicious Ground Beef Stroganoff!
