Double chocolate banana bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2-3 bananas)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: additional chocolate chips for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in the granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly.
  9. Optional: sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top of the batter for extra chocolatey goodness.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Remove from the oven and let the double chocolate banana bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes.
  12. Once cooled slightly, remove the bread from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  13. Slice and serve the double chocolate banana bread, and enjoy!
  14. This double chocolate banana bread is moist, rich, and loaded with chocolate flavor. It’s perfect for breakfast, dessert, or as a sweet treat any time of day. Enjoy!
