Chocolate trifle 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 box (about 450g) chocolate cake mix, prepared according to package instructions (or you can use store-bought chocolate cake)
  • 2 boxes (about 100g each) instant chocolate pudding mix, prepared according to package instructions
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chocolate shavings or chocolate chips for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake according to the instructions on the box. Let it cool completely, then cut it into small cubes.
  2. Prepare the instant chocolate pudding according to the instructions on the box. Let it chill in the refrigerator until set.
  3. In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  4. To assemble the trifle, start by placing a layer of chocolate cake cubes at the bottom of a trifle dish or a large glass bowl.
  5. Next, spread a layer of chocolate pudding over the cake cubes.
  6. Then, add a layer of whipped cream on top of the pudding.
  7. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the dish, ending with a layer of whipped cream.
  8. If desired, garnish the top of the trifle with chocolate shavings or chocolate chips.
  9. Cover the trifle dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours, or until ready to serve. This allows the flavors to meld together and the dessert to set.
  10. When ready to serve, spoon the chocolate trifle into individual bowls or glasses.
